Binaural Beats In Our Music
The Formula: Beat Frequency = Frequency 1 - Frequency 2
By "panning" (directing the sound) one frequency to your left ear, and then panning another frequency to the right ear, we can modulate certain brainwave activity (assuming you're wearing headphones in the first place). In other words, your brain will distinguish the different frequencies in each ear and will process a beat of its own that matches the difference between the two frequencies.
Below we have some examples of binaural beats. The shapes you see are shapes of the binaural beats audio wave form. This is how it looks on a tool called a goniometer. In music production, a goniometer is a display that shows the relationship between the phase of two or more signals. In this case, the two frequencies making the binaural beat. We use these beat frequencies in many of our tracks at low volumes.
Delta Waves (111 Hz and 108 Hz)
111 Hz - 108 Hz = 3 Hz. Here we have a 3 Hz brainwave modulation which falls within the Delta range and is useful for facilitating full body relaxation, access to the pure mind, and deep sleep.
Theta Waves (38 Hz and 32 Hz)
38 Hz - 32 Hz = 6 Hz. Here we have a 6 Hz brainwave modulation which falls within the Theta range. Theta Waves are useful for a relaxed mind and deep meditation. Some also consider Theta waves to be associated with creativity, intuition, and healing.
Alpha Waves (122 Hz and 112 Hz)
122 Hz - 112 Hz = 10 Hz. Here we have a 10 Hz brainwave modulation which falls within the Alpha range. Alpha waves are useful for maintaining a relaxed focus and achieving a sharper concentration.
Gamma Waves (144 Hz and 108 Hz)
144 Hz - 108 Hz = 36 Hz. Here we have a 36 Hz brainwave modulation which falls within the Gamma range. Gamma waves are useful for mystical experiences, the deepest levels of meditation, and out of body travel.
